My dear friend, Andrew Byrne, who also happens to be my voice teacher, my frequent music director and coach, wrote this fantastic song and asked me to record it for him. If ONLY I could sing this in auditions, but it’s not exactly the message one wants to send in an audition. . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UI14gbITB4

I am so honored not only to be helping out with this benefit behind the scenes, but also performing a duet with my dear friend, Julia Burrows. There are so many wonderful people involved in this cause, and I’m proud not only to be involved, but just to know so many of these amazing people.
Monday, April 14th @ 7pm. NYU Skirball Center in NYC.
I would normally say that my view of Michael Kostroff may be biased because he is a dear friend, but I can honestly tell you that this post is anything BUT biased.
Michael and I met doing the Les Miserables tour back in 2003. He has remained a close friend over the years even though we weren’t always on the same coast, though we are now! He teaches a class that I FINALLY got around to taking in April of 2013. All I can say is that I should have taken it sooner. It’s called Audition Psych 101. I’m not even sure I’d call it a class. More of a therapeutic play date.
I don’t want to give away too many of his secrets, so I will just direct you to his website at http://www.auditionpsych101.com/.
Next class is this Friday, Sept 20th. All you need to bring is yourself and maybe a notebook. That’s IT. No performing. No casting directors. No 16 bars. Just talking and learning.
Oh, and I will be there. So I mean, double bonus. You get to see me AND learn something.
I’m doing a NYMF show (That’s New York Musical Theatre Festival!) this summer!
Sasquatched! The Musical!

Wed, July 10th at 1pm

You guys. . . . My gym is the coolest. I know we probably all say that, but I have to say, I win this one. Mark Fisher Fitness. I can’t even describe it except to say that it’s genius. The slogan is “Ridiculous Humas. Serious Fitness.” I mean, hello?!!!
Here are a few fun facts for you:
When I went there, I HATED gyms. Now, MFF is my happy place.
I weighed 131lbs when I started there. Now I am hovering at 118lbs.
When I started there, I was swinging an 8kg kettlebell. Now I’m at 18kg. It’s been about 6 months. 2-3 times a week for an hour. http://markfisherfitness.com/.
I love these people.
